Bengaluru: As the tussle for the post of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president continues within the state Congress, party leader and KPCC president post aspirant D K Shivakumar has made a nonchalant statement.
Reacting to information about former chief minister Siddaramaiah lobbying for M B Patil to be the next KPCC chief during his meeting with AICC interim-president Sonia Gandhi, DKShi said, “Let them continue their state politics; I will take care of other domestic issues.”
It can be recalled that, as per the high command’s instructions, Siddaramaiah had travelled to Delhi on Monday, January 13 evening, and met with the party’s national leaders. The meeting continued on Tuesday, where Siddaramaiah reportedly supported the candidature of his close aide and former minister M B Patil.
According to party sources, it is said that Siddaramaiah hinted to the high command leaders that M B Patil can be a ‘game-changer’ for the Congress in northern Karnataka against the BJP.
