Bengaluru: Congress strongman from the state, major irrigation minister DK Shivakumar, who is popularly called as DKShi moved the Karnataka High Court seeking quashing of summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against him and his associates.

According to the sources in the Congress legal team, the appeal was moved on February 2.
“The ED may arrest DKSHi if he fails to give a reply to the questionnaire. The ED has collected strong proof against the DKSHi and his associates,” informed a leader.
“The ED and the IT department authorities are named as the respondents,” informed sources.
Meanwhile, sources in the ED confirmed that the department has started the process of attaching the alleged benami properties of DKShi under various provisions of the law.

A threat to the coalition government?
According to the sources, JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda and CM HD Kumaraswamy fear that in the event of any legal trouble to DKShi, it will result in the collapse of the coalition government. “So both the leaders are helping DKShi in his legal battle,” confirmed a senior JDS leader.
