Bengaluru: The city’s power corridors are abuzz with rumours that the JDS launched resort politics to win the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) chairman’s post.
According to sources in the Congress camp, JDS leader H D Revanna, who has his eyes on the KMF chairman’s post, took four Congress-supported milk union presidents to Hyderabad and kept them in a resort.
As per the agreement reached between the JDS and Congress in June, Hagaribommanahalli MLA Bhima Naik was shortlisted for the post. Now, as the state government led by H D Kumaraswamy collapsed, Revanna launched resort politics to turn the tables.
Kaup Divakar Shetty (Udupi), Hiregowda (Dharwad), Veerabhadrababu (Shivamogga) and Shreshaila (Vijayapura) are the union presidents who were taken to a resort by the JDS leader.
The KMF chairman election is scheduled to be held on July 29. The Congress party has the highest numbers with seven directors. The BJP and JDS have three directors each, while one is a nominated Congress director. Three directors’ posts currently belong to officers.
