Bengaluru: Recent victory of the Congress in the three states of North India increased its bargaining power in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2019. Under pressure by the Congress to leave as many seats as possible, the JDS is likely to contest in less than 10 seats. Party supremo, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda himself has given a hint in this regard.
Speaking to the reporters in Hassan, he made it clear that the party is not in a position to bargain hard. “We have done badly in the assembly election. So it is unrealistic to expect more seats,” he said stating that the first challenge is to stop the BJP from returning to power. “So I am swallowing everything,” he said.
