Bengaluru: Pramod Muthalik, a hardcore Hindutva leader and founder of Shri Rama Sena is likely to contest on a Shiv Sena ticket in the upcoming state assembly elections.

Upset by BJP’s ticket denial, Muthalik has decided to play a spoilsport and divide the BJP votes. As part of this strategy, he has decided to contest on a Shiv Sena ticket and has been in talks with Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray in this regard.

Pramod Mutalik himself disclosed that he has held two rounds of talks with Thackeray and discussed contesting on the party ticket in any of the Maratha dominated constituencies of the state. “Discussion is on,” he said.

According to sources, Shiv Sena wants to contest in around 100 seats of Belagavi, Chikkodi, Gokak, Bidar region where party has substantial support base. A Shiv Sena leader informed that party’s aim is not winning the election but teaching a lesson to BJP which is behaving like a ‘Big Brother’ in Maharastra.
