Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G Parameshwara has directed the BBMP authorities to reach 100% in property tax collections in the next three months. He also warned of stringent action if the authorities fail to meet this by the end of the financial year 2018-19.

The DCM, who held a BBMP review meeting on Friday evening, expressed his shock over the poor property tax collections. He then pointed out the various media reports on property tax issues.

“I don’t want the officers to give any excuse. Whoever they are and however influential he or she may be, all must pay property tax,” he said.

The BBMP officers informed that they have issued notices to 59,861 property owners who have failed to pay the tax. Seize warrants have also been issued to 921 other property owners.
