Bengaluru: Following the protests from various organisations, the state government has decided to set up a single window clearance system for the installation of the Ganesha idols across the city.
DCM and Bengaluru Development minister Dr G Parameshwar issued a direction in this regard.
According to the new set of guidelines issued by the state government, the Ganesha festival organisers need to take the permission of various civic agencies to install Ganesha idols including BBMP, police, fire and emergency services etc. “To ensure that the organisers will not face any problem, the single window clearance system will be introduced. Under the scheme, all the applications must be routed through this body which will be approved,” informed DCM Parameshwar.
“This system was proposed last year itself. But due to various technical issues, we couldn’t implement. But this year we are implementing,” he added.
