Bengaluru: Minister for Tourism, Kannada and Culture C T Ravi became the first minister from Karnataka to test positive for COVID-19 Saturday, July 11.
The news was confirmed by Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar on Saturday evening.
While Ravi is the first state minister to test positive for the disease, other prominent politicians have also contracted the virus, like Lok Sabha MP Sumalatha Ambareesh and others.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has quarantined himself after his home office staff tested positive for the disease.
