Covid vaccination drive to re-start in Karnataka from May 22

Centre Requests States To Vaccinate Bankers Insurers On Priority

Bengaluru: Covid 19 vaccination drive for the people in the age group of 18-44 years will begin in the state from May 22.

However, the government listed front line workers who are eligible to get the vaccine on priority in this age group.

The priority sectors include media personnel, physically disabled, those who are working in the crematoriums, teachers engaged in the Covid 19 duty, water and electricity service providers, construction workers and so on.

According to the sources, with the state government receiving over 2 lakh doses of Covishield, it has been decided to re-start the vaccination drive for the priority sectors.

Earlier the state government was forced to cancel the drive due to the shortage of vaccines.
