Bengaluru: Another girl has been detained by police for holding a placard that read ‘Free Kashmir’ at a protest organised by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in Town Hall on Friday, February 21.
The pro-Hindu outfit had called a protest to condemn the incident involving student activist Amulya Leona shouting a pro-Pakistan slogan at an anti-CAA rally in Freedom Park last night.
Arudra (a resident of Malleshwaram) was detained the instant she walked into the venue by SJ Park Police, according to a report by DHNS. Her placard reportedly read, “Free Kashmir, free Dalit, free Muslim, free Trans, and free Adivasi”.
Speaking to reporters, Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao said that the arrested woman was currently being interrogated by Central Division DCP and added that she works at a private firm in the city.
It can be recalled that in another case that took place in Mysuru last year, Nalini B had held a similar banner at a protest organised on the premises of the University of Mysore. After being taken into custody for sedition, she was released on bail.
