Constable taking bribe from KR Market street vendors leaves dept red-faced

Bengaluru: A video showing a police allegedly collecting bribe from the roadside vendors in the KR Market of the city has caused embarrassment to the police department.

The city police have now assured to verify the footage and initiate action against the person concerned if found guilty.

All started with an unknown user tagging the social media accounts of the city police with a video allegedly recorded from the KR Market area. In this video, a constable is found receiving cash from the roadside vendors.

Within a few minutes, the video went viral on social media. Netizens started posing questions on what the police department will do to stop this kind of corruption in the department. Under pressure, police issued a statement that they will look into the video, verify its authenticity and initiate action if the recording is found true.
