Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) urged the state police to register a suo moto case against Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister KS Eshwarappa for his controversial statement.
On August 5, Eshwarappa had stated that after Ayodhya, clearing mosques in Mathura and Kaashi should be the next target.
He made this statement while participating in an event to mark the foundation stone laying ceremony for the proposed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
“This statement is given to disrupt the communal harmony in the state. He should be arrested immediately,” stated KPCC president DK Shivakumar.
“It is the responsibility of the state government and the police to ensure communal harmony in the state,” he stated.
