Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), on Thursday approached the state’s anti-corruption bureau to register a formal complaint against BS Yeddyurappa and five BJP leaders for the alleged poaching attempt of Congress-JD(S) lawmakers.

Besides Yeddyurappa, the complaint mentions names of MLA B Sriramulu, MLA BJ Puttaswamy, mining baron Janardhana Reddy, Yeddyurappa’s son Vijayendra and BJP’s Karnataka in-charge Muralidhara Rao.

The party, had ahead of Yeddyurappa’s trust vote on May 19 released audio tapes of BJP leaders trying to lure their lawmakers with monetary and ministerial offers to get them to vote in favor of Yeddyurappa. However the BJP had dismissed these allegations and had claimed that the tapes were doctored.

Now it is gathered that the Congress has handed over copies of the tapes released by them to the ACB to substantiate their accusations besides rubbishing BJP’s claims that the tapes are doctored .

Morover the Congress also referred to the exit speech given by Yeddyurappa where he mentioned having reached out to non-BJP lawmakers for support.

The Supreme Court had overruled the 15 days time given by Governor Vajubhai Vala to the BJP to prove its majority in the Assembly and had ordered for a floor test on May 19. However Yeddyurappa stepped down from the post of chief minister without going for the floor test.
