Cong-JD(S) are politically united to defeat BJP, says Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: After 12 years of being separated, the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular), have gelled together and forgotten all the bitter moments of the past, to form a fresh and strong alliance to have its opponent, the BJP defeated. Regarding the reunite and its allied strategy, the Congress-JD(S) held a joint press conference here, on Saturday, October 20.

Addressing the press conference in Hotel Ashoka, the leaders of the coalition government shared the same platform. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Chairman of Government-alliance Coordination Committee Siddaramaiah, Minister for Water Resources D K Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwar, former prime minister H D Devegowda and KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao were present.

Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy said that PM Modi in the Centre and Yeddyurappa in the state were political enemies and that they had no personal enmity. The only intention of the coalition is to defeat the BJP, they added.

They also said that both the parties had joined hands to work for the betterment of the nation adding that, the party workers also had agreed upon the agenda. Minor issues will be worked on and sorted out, they said.

H D Devegowda said that there was no necessity of recalling the bitter memories.

He added by saying that they would take further steps considering the benefits and better prospects for the country. There were no selfish motives, he clarified.

There was no way that the media could strike an imbalance and create a distress, by digging and dragging the old matters, he said.

The coalition has firmly decided to stand united and fight the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he reiterated.
