Bengaluru: Fearing that the JDS may demand Tumakuru Lok Sabha constituency at the time of negotiations, in Tumakuru incumbent MP and Congress leader SP Muddahanumegowda’s supporters started ‘GoBack JDS campaign’ in the district.
According to the Congress activists, in the 2014 general election, the Congress could withstand the onslaught of the Modi wave in a BJP fort only because of the popularity of the incumbent MP. The Congress activists are now upset that the JDS is now trying to take away the constituency.
The Congress activists launched an FB voting link to prove their demand that the Congress is strong in the district. They are using the district level whatsapp groups to prevent the JDS from claiming the seat.
Meanwhile, the JDS has continued the pressure tactics to claim Tumakuru
