Coastal belt to witness heavy rains from Aug 6 to 10

Bengaluru: As per the India Meteorological Department, Meteorological Centre, Bengaluru, the coastal Karnataka is all set to receive heavy rains from August 6 to August 10.

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka when rainfall shall exceed 115mm on August 6, stated the department adding that rainfall shall exceed 115mm on August 7, 205mm on August 8 and on August 9 and 115 mm on August 10.

The Malnad districts of Shivamogga, Kodagu and Chikkamagaluru have already declared holiday to schools and colleges on August 6 due to heavy rains. The coastal districts did not declare holiday on August 6 despite the rains catching up right from Tuesday morning itself.
