Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy decided to re-launch his popular village stay programme which made him very famous in 2007-08 when he was the CM for the first time.
According to the JDS sources, the CM has decided to stay in villages twice a month.
“In 2007-08, he gained immense popularity across the state due to his village stay programme. His decision to stay with a couple infected with HIV, families from socially and economically weaker sections of the society gave him a pan-state image. With the idea of arresting his falling image due to the recent controversies, the CM has decided to launch the village stay programme,” said sources in the JDS.
“He will select remote villages in every district as part of this initiative. His idea is understanding the grass route level problems as well as making the administrative machinery to reach the nook and corner of the state,” explained a senior leader.
Speaking to the reporters in Bidar, CM H D Kumaraswamy confirmed the development. “Yes, I am planning to re-launch my village stay programme. I will stay in villages twice in a month. I don’t want to be in the Vidhana Soudha always,” he informed.
