Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has called for a Cabinet meeting today, July 11, and is it is expected that he will announce his resignation.

It can be recalled that all the ministers of his cabinet already submitted their resignations to Kumaraswamy in order to make way for the rebel MLAs who submitted their resignations recently.

“He is likely to announce his resignation and recommend that the Governor dissolve the Assembly,” said a JDS leader.

“All the party leaders have informed the CM that there is no meaning in continuing as CM after a slew of resignations by the JDS and Congress MLAs. He is likely to meet the Governor after garlanding the statue of Gandhiji,” he added.

Meanwhile, housing minister M T B Nagaraj announced his political retirement. “I will not contest in any election henceforth,” he stated after tendering his resignation letter to the Governor.
