Bengaluru: The Karnataka state ministry will be expanded on June 12 in an apparent attempt to defuse the tension with the Congress-JDS coalition government. The oath-taking ceremony will be held at 11.30 AM.
As per a report by ANI, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy met with Governor Vajubhai Vala on Saturday and requested him to expand his ministry, which currently has 28 ministers.
There are currently three ministerial vacancies, two of which are to be filled from the JDS quota and one from the Congress.
According to ANI, sources said that two independents, Mulabagilu MLA H Nagesh and Ranebennur MLA R Shankar, who support the coalition government, are expected to be inducted into the ministry.
The sources also said that MLA and Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy may once again become a minister.
It can be recalled that former CM Siddaramaiah had said on Wednesday, that Congress MLA Ramalinga Reddy would become a minister during the Cabinet reshuffle.
