Bengaluru: The State government is leaving no stone unturned to prevent any communal incident in the coming weeks as Ganesh Chaturti and Bakrid approach.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who also holds the Home portfolio at present, held a meeting with top police personnel of the State on Monday, deliberating on measures necessary to prevent any communal problems.

The Chief Minister is said to have instructed all district administrations to identify anti-social and communal elements, track their movements and even make preventive detentions if required.

He asked them to hold peace meetings between the two communities as part of preparations for the festivals too.

Sources said that the CM issued strict instructions that none of the senior officials should leave the headquarters.

ADGP-rank officers in-charge of districts should also visit their assigned districts to oversee preparations.
