Bengaluru: Amidst fear of ‘Operation Kamala’, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy appointed Congress MLA V Muniyappa from Sidlaghatta as his political secretary, as was recommended to him by the Congress party.
According to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the appointment was made on Monday night, following pressure from the Congress leadership.
“It is for the first time in any state that a coalition partner MLA has become a political secretary to the CM,” said a JDS legislator. “But we are helpless,” he added.
It can be recalled that JDS leaders, including party supremo H D Deve Gowda and CM HDK himself, expressed their displeasure over the Congress nominating its MLA as the CM’s political secretary.
