Bengaluru: Bengaluru North division police led by DCP Chetan Singh Rathore had a shock of their life when they found that none other than DSP of Chikkaballapur District Armed Reserve Nagendra Kumar was a part of a robbery team which allegedly looted Rs 10 lakhs in the name of a scheme that could double the money. He has been now arrested along with two constables of the armed reserve police force and sent to judicial custody.
All started with Shivakumar (41), a resident of Ramamurthynagar of the city approaching the north division DCP Rathore alleging that on November 8, while he was counting Rs.10 lakhs cash in Rs.2,000 notes to give to a doubling agent, a team of police raided on the spot and seized the money. When police started the investigation they found that this fake raid was conducted by Nagendra Kumar who is working as the DSP of Chikkaballapur District Armed Reserve police. When he was subjected for the investigation, police found that two constables were also part of this raid.
“In our investigation, it was found that these doubling agents, DSP Nagendra Kumar, and others are a part of a gang which collects money in the name of doubling the investment and later the money was seized in the name of a fake raid.
