Bengaluru: Proprietor of Cafe Coffee Day and son-in-law of former Chief Minister S M Krishna V G Siddhartha appeared before the Income Tax (IT) officials on Wednesday for investigation, which is expected to continue even on Thursday.
According to the sources, IT officials asked several questions related to few high voltage transactions carried out by the company post demonitisation. Officers questioned him over few unspecified transactions as well.
It can be recalled that IT officials from Karnataka-Goa regional offices carried out inspections for four days in various offices belonging to V G Siddhartha in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chikkamagaluru and Mudigere where he has business interests. IT officials even raided the estate owned by Siddhartha’s father Gangaiah Hegde in Amruthahalli village of Mudigere.
