Bengaluru: Closed-circuit cameras will be installed soon in every ward of the government hospitals and medical colleges to control corruption and put a break to the idleness of the health staff, said Medical Education Minister D K Shivakumar.
The minister spoke to media persons during his sudden visit to Victoria Hospital as there were complaints about the working style of the hospital, on Friday. The government medical education institutions should grow higher than the private colleges. So, it has been decided to install CC cameras to put a break on the irresponsibility of the staff at the government medical institutions.
Similarly, staff biometric system will be installed. In the days to come, I would visit all medical colleges to take stock of the situation. Along with this, the order will be implemented within 75 days, to start centralized patients’ registration and billing unit in all hospitals, which come under Medical Education Department, the minister said.
“After taking charge as Medical Education Minister, I have visited the Victoria Hospital with a positive mindset. I came to know that the hospital is involved in commercial activities. It will be controlled soon. A special team has been appointed to find mistakes and correct it,” Shivakumar said.
