Bengaluru: The BBMP, which is facing a shortage in its revenue collection and government aid is now planning to cancel developmental works to the tune of Rs.5,000 cr. Most of these works are related to construction and civil in nature.
If sources are to be believed, then the BBMP is facing financial crunch to the tune of Rs 22,657 cr.
According to the sources, the works for which tenders are yet to be floated will be cancelled and work proposed at an estimated cost of Rs 11,000 cr, which are yet to be taken up may be axed.
According to an estimation done by the BBMP, the corporation is yet to clear Rs.3,944 crores bill to various vendors and contractors.
It includes works taken under various state and central govenrment projects.
