Car catches fire charring occupants to death in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: In a tragic mishap, two people were charred to death on Hosuru main road in Chandapura after the car they were traveling in was hit by an overspeeding bus in the wee hours of Sunday, July 22.

The identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet.

Reportedly, the bus, coming from the opposite direction collided head-on into the car after hitting the road divider initially. Owing to the impact of the collision the car caught fire which later spread to the bus as well.

While the car occupants were not lucky enough to survive the accident, the twenty passengers onboard the bus evacuated the bus immediately thus saving their lives. Few passengers however suffered some minor injuries. The bus driver fled the spot soon after the accident.

Immediately, two fire service tenders were deployed to douse the fire. Police officials rushed to the spot.
