Bengaluru: The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has decided to increase the penalty for not implementing the Rain Water Harvesting (RWH). This new decision will be implemented from the month of June.

According to the BWSS sources, the penalty for not implementing the RWH will be increased by 50% for the domestic connections while 100% for the non-domestic/ commercial connections.

A decision in this regard was taken at a board meeting of the BWSSB, held on Wednesday.

“Even though BWSS has issued several reminders, general public and house owners are not coming forward to construct the RWH facility. So it has been now decided to increase the penalty. A detailed break up of the penalty amount will be notified soon,” informed authorities.
