Bus operators fleece passengers after announcement of lockdown

Bengaluru: The private bus operators were seen fleecing the passengers after the state government announced lockdown from Tuesday April 27, 9 pm.

They were found charging Rs 5,000 per seat between Bengaluru and Hubballi and Bengaluru-Belagavi. On Bengaluru-Mangaluru route Rs.3,000 was charged per seat.

The KSRTC had operated 500 additional buses to ease the pressure, but as a huge number of city residents started to return to their native places, the demand for the seats increased suddenly.

The majestic bus terminus witnessed unprecedented rush. The KSRTC will operate additional buses all the day on Tuesday to all parts of the state to help the people who want to return to their native places.
