Bengaluru: Fearing that statue row may spark rows in other universities as well after the Bangalore University, the state government has decided to form an experts committee to look into the issue.
It can be recalled that recently the BU campus witnessed tension over the installation of the Buddha statue. A section of students wanted Saraswathi statue to be continued while another group wanted Buddha statue.
Speaking to the reporters, higher education minister GT Devegowda made it clear that he doesn’t want to see such controversies in any of the other universities or the colleges. “We don’t want any caste-religious fights in the campus. So we want to find a solution,” he said.
