Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President B S Yeddyurappa has dismissed rumours about Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to fight the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 from Karnataka. This comes after a story published by certain media houses a few days ago that reported that Modi would fight the elections from a constituency in Karnataka in addition to Varanasi. They also reported that this was BJP’s ploy to garner popularity for them in the South.
When questioned about this, BSY called these reports baseless and also added that the core committee meeting which would be held on Wednesday, October 10 would pick the party’s candidates for the by-polls.
He added that he was consulting various party leaders on finalising the candidature for the election on Wednesday.
