Bengaluru: Amid fear of rebel activities in the party over the cabinet reshuffle and expansion, CM BS Yediyurappa deputed Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol and industries minister Jagadish Shettar to pacify the rebel leaders.

According to the sources, as all those who have been identified with former minister Umesh Katti’s faction are from the North Karnataka region, the CM has asked Karjol and Shettar to hold discussion with them and resolve the matters.

Meanwhile, BJP state unit president Nalin Kumar Kateel informed that party will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline.

He also made it clear that there is no question of another round of Operation Kamala to bring the MLAs from other parties.

“Our government is strong and we do not need any more MLAs,” he stated.

It may be recalled that a meeting of a few MLAs under the leadership of Umesh Katti and Basangoud Patil Yatnal has sparked rumours of rift within the BJP house.

The CM’s move of giving the responsibility of handling dissent to Karajol and Shettar comes merely a day after the CM said that battling Corona pandemic is his priority and that he has no time for other issues.
