BSY closes doors of BJP for Sharath Bacchegowda

Bengaluru: Though rumours were rife that Sharath Bacchegowda, who revolted against the BJP and contested from Hosakote constituency as an independent candidate and also won the by-polls, will be joining the BJP, none other than CM BS Yediyurappa has laid to rest all the speculations.

Sharath trounced BJP leader MTB Nagaraj in the by-polls. However, the CM has now made it clear that there is no way that Sharath would be welcomed into the BJP fold.

“As long as I am here, I will not allow Sharath Bachegowda’s entry into the BJP,” said the CM. Sharath is the son of senior BJP leader BN Bacchegowda. It is said that MTB Nagaraj was welcomed into the BJP folds after holding deliberations with Bacchegowda.

The party now feels that Sharath’s adamancy to contest the polls led to the defeat of MTB. It is also said that MTB has requested not to allow Sharath to join the party and the CM has obliged to the same as the CM holds the rebel in high regard. The CM has often said that the rebels have made him the CM and hence he will always be grateful to them.

The CM was reportedly also hurt by the fact that Sharath refused to pay any heed to the suggestions of the CM before he contested as an independent candidate. The doors of BJP seems closed for Jr Bacchegowda.
