Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corportation Ltd (BMRCL) is likely to connect the Kempegowda International Airport via Hebbal and Jakkur instead of the proposed Nagavara route. According to the reliable sources in the BMRCL, the corporation submitted a detailed project report in this regard to the state government.
As per the revised proposal, the cost of the new route will be Rs. 5,950 Crore. “The proposed Nagavara route is not feasible due to various technical reasons. So the BMRCL proposed a revised route via Hebbal and Jakkur. The cost of the new route is slightly high compared to the Nagavara route. The total length of this proposed route is 29 kilometres,” said an officer who is privy to the developments.
