Bengaluru: Five Congress MLAs from constituencies falling under the Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency, met at a hotel in the city on Saturday night and warned the JDS leaders against taking them lightly in the upcoming general elections. They stated that they would extend their support to the JDS only if their demands are met.
It can be recalled that the Congress allocated the Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency to the JDS in the seat sharing agreement.
Speaking to reporters after the dinner, Yeswanthpur MLA S T Somashekar alleged that the state government is not respecting the feelings of the Congress MLAs of Bengaluru North.
“I am appointed as the BDA chairman. But I don’t have any power. The AICC asked us to wok for the JDS. But we will work only if our demands are met,” he said.
“Our works are not taken up. Our constituencies are neglected. Our workers are sidelined. These are our worries,” he added.
“We want CM HDK to call for a meeting of all the MLAs. We will start work for the JDS candidate after that,” he stated.
