Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police is on the lookout for eagle trainers. Yes, you read that right!
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao has sought the public’s help to find eagle trainers for his department.
On Thursday, the compol tweeted seeking public help in this regard. “Do we have any Eagle Trainers in Bangalore or in our country? Need help…,” he tweeted.
Rao, in the tweet, asked people to contact him on 9980915100 or 9480801001 with details of eagle trainers.
When one Twitter user asked Rao why he was looking for eagle trainers, he replied, “To be back to basics… lots can be accomplished.”
Many, including some from the North, have extended their help.
According to sources, eagles are used extensively in western countries to keep an eye on the drone menace, which is becoming an issue here as well.
However, when one user pointed out that “no wildlife can be used for such (illegal drone tackling) activities according to the Wildlife Act” and asked the compol to “drop this idea”, Rao told him “don’t jump to conclusions”.
