Bengaluru: Two Central Crime Branch sleuths were suspended on Saturday, January 12, Bengaluru Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar, for allegedly demanding a Rs 1 Crore bribe from an accused in a case.
Sources from the police say that an inspector of the CCB’s Organised Crime Wing, Prakash and head constable Suresh were suspended after an inquiry report found that the officers had demanded bribe from the accused.
Inspector Prakash, on December 9, had received a complaint from several Bengaluru residents that Perkz Aimms Ventures Ltd., a chit fund company located in Jayanagar, had cheated hundreds of people out of an undisclosed amount.
