Bengaluru: A day after journalist Faye D’Souza challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a public debate on the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the BJP’s Karnataka unit announced that it will accept the challenge.
In a tweet, the BJP state unit announced that any of its activists can take Faye D’Souza on in a debate on the subject.
It all started when Faye D’Souza challenged Shah to an open debate on the CAA in response to his challenge to Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and Mamata Banerjee.
She tweeted, “Mr Home Minister, I respectfully volunteer to debate with you on the #CAA. Just say when.”

In response, the BJP Karnataka stated that it has accepted the challenge. In a tweet, the party wrote, “Miss Journalist ? ? ? We are ready to debate with you on the #CAA. Address: BJP Karnataka Jagannatha Bhavana Malleswaram Bengaluru When are you coming? Just let us know how many of you are coming? Only one Karyakarta will be sufficient to “Enlighten” You All about CAA ! ! ! [sic]”
