BJP-PFI rift fuelling murders in state: Home Minister

Bengaluru: Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has alleged that the pique between the BJP and the Popular Front of India (PFI) organization are resulting in murders in the state.

Addressing media in Vikasa Soudha, the Home Minister said that around 11 such murders have been reported in the state, but the BJP claims that there have been 18 to 20 incidents.

“The BJP is repeatedly experimenting the Goebbels’s big lie theory that if you keep repeating a lie, it seems to be true after a while. If someone dies, it starts playing politics. If the Congress didn’t transfer Paresh Mesta’s death incident to the CBI, the BJP was all set to make it a bigger issue. But, by transferring the case, the government proved that it is not with anybody,” he said.

Totally rejecting the story that a school girl was assaulted by miscreants in Honnavar, the Home Minister said that local MLA Mankala Vaidya has informed that the girl was hurt by slipping. “I had called him. But, social media is being misused these days and attempts are being done to mislead people. If there is no self-control, miscreants have to face legal action. Training is being given to cyber police in this regard,” he warned.

Regarding the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls, the minister said “the exit poll surveys are not final. There is neck-to-neck fight between the Congress and the BJP in both the states. We have a confidence that Congress would emerge as the winner. However, let’s wait for the results,” he said.
