Bengaluru: BJP national president Amit Shah said on Thursday that the model of development of the Narendra Modi-led government was the most inclusive.
Interacting with other backward class (OBC ) leaders, professionals and traders at Jnana Jyothi auditorium here, Shah said the inclusivity of our model of development is evident in the goals BJP has adopted — to leave no house in the country without bank accounts, LPG cylinders, power supply and electricity by the end of our tenure.
This comes a day after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in a Facebook post, articulated that the “Karnataka Model of Development” was on the lines of Basavanna’s philosophy of “Kayaka” (production of wealth) and “Dasoha” (distribution of wealth).
Shah also took a dig at Siddaramaiah’s claims of inclusivity using the controversy over the Chief Minister’s expensive watch. He asked OBC leaders and later traders, whether any of them in the hall had a Rs. 40 lakh watch and when they said ‘no’, he said Siddaramaiah, who claims to work for the poor, has. At the OBC leader’s meet, he again took a dig at the Chief Minister claiming the budget allocation for OBC was less than that of minorities and brought up the issue of Tipu Jayanti, asking why the Chief Minister had not thought of celebrating Visvesvaraya or Kuvempu Jayanti.
