Bengaluru: The BJP state unit has issued directions to all its MPs, MLAs and MLCs to refrain from taking part in Tipu Sultan birth anniversary celebrations scheduled on November 10.
According to the sources, party state unit president B S Yeddyurappa has sent a letter to all the party leaders in this regard.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, B S Yeddyurappa confirmed that none of the party MLAs or MLCs are participating in the taluk/ district level events organised by the state government. He declined to comment on the questions related to his participation in Tipu Jayanti when he was the KJP president in the year 2012.
Meanwhile, BJP has decided to hold a state-wide agitation on November 10 in protest against the government celebrating Tipu Jayanti. As per the sources, the party state unit has asked its office-bearers to hold protests across the state.
