Bengaluru: In protest against Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar’s decision to delay the voting on the confidence motion, BJP MLAs led by party state chief, former CM B S Yeddyurappa, held a dharna inside the Assembly at midnight. All the MLAs slept on the floor of the House to mark their protest.
Speaking to reporters just before starting the dharna, BSY alleged that the government has become a dictatorship and is murdering democracy. “We don’t have any words to describe this government. The Speaker is partisan,” he alleged.
The BJP leaders are expected to continue their protest on Friday and demand that the trust vote be held at the earliest.
All the BJP MLAs are part of this midnight dharna. Many MLAs struggled to adjust as it was a last-minute call.
