Mangaluru: MLA UT Khader slammed the BJP-led state government for their lack of preparedness in containing the second wave of Covid.

Addressing a press meet here on Friday, April 23, Khader said, “People in the state are perplexed and terrified. The report of the Technical Advisory Committee on the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic was totally ignored by the state government. It did not brace itself or pay attention to improving the health system in order to stop the virus from spreading. Instead, they were occupied with campaigning for by-elections, he alleged.

MLA suggested that it is the duty and responsibility of the government to take people into confidence.

Replying to the query on minister Aravind Limbavali, Khader said, “BJP leaders are making baseless accusations against Congress. Their approach to administration has proven to be ineffective. The city of Bengaluru is experiencing a shortage of hospital beds. The situation is deteriorating. What steps has the BJP government taken to increase hospital beds? This is the administration’s downfall. What benefit have they brought to the state? This is the administration’s downfall. What benefit have they brought to the state? They failed miserably in their management of the Covid. Bring Congress back to power, and we’ll show you how to deal with the situation. The very least the BJP can do is consider Congress’s suggestions,” he charged.

“Why has the Karnataka government not taken up the initiative of providing free vaccine ?” Khader questioned.

He suggested the vaccine must be provided free of cost in Karnataka like the neighboring states Goa and Kerala.
