Bengaluru: In a twist to the ongoing political turmoil in the state, the BJP decided to use the coveted post of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) chairman to placate the party rebels. As part of the strategy, the party decided to back Balachandra Jarakiholi as the new chairman of the KMF.
Earlier, the election for the coveted post was scheduled to be held on August 31.
Till Saturday, it was agreed that the BJP would support Congress MLA Bheema Naik. However, the BJP decided to field a leader from their own ranks as the new chairman.
If everything goes according to plan, Balachandra Jarakiholii will face off against JD(S) leader and former PWD minister H D Revanna.
