Bengaluru: Former minister V Somanna has been appointed as the BJP in-charge for Chamarajanagara district. He also been appointed as the new Vice President of party state unit. According to the sources in the BJP state unit he is expected to contest from Hanur constituency of the district.
V Somanna, who lost from both Vijayanagara and Govindarajanagara constituencies of the Bengaluru was eyeing on Hanur constituency as it is dominated by Lingayats. With an idea of using his clout among the Lingayats, party has decided to make him Chamarajanagara in-charge.
Meanwhile, party has decided to hold state-wide protests on September 16 demanding the resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K J George who is facing CBI investigation on DySP Ganapati suicide case.
