Bengaluru: Three youth were charred to death after the bike in which they were wheeling hit a BMTC bus in Devagere cross under the Kaggalipura police limits. Even the bus went up in flames after the bike collided right against the fuel tank. No passengers were injured.
According to the Kaggalipura police who are investigating the incident, Pradeep (26), a resident of Uttarahalli, Harisha (27), a resident of Konanakunte, and Basavalingegowda (26), a resident of Anjanapura were wheeling on a bike. Near Devagere cross, they lost control on the bike and hit a BMTC bus (KA 01, FA 931). The bike hit the fuel tank of the bus and caught fire and within minutes all the three were charred to death.
“The bus also caught fire, but the bus crew ensured that no passenger was stuck in the bus. By the time fire personnel arrived, the bus was totally burnt,” added police.
Ten passengers were inside the bus at the time of the incident. According to the police, one of the deceased was carrying a lethal weapon in his bag.
The bodies of the youth have been handed over to their parents after postmortem.
