Bengaluru: As expected, JDS corporator from the Nagapura ward, Bhadre Gowda has been elected as the new Deputy Mayor of the BBMP. He was elected unopposed as the BJP didn’t field its candidate.
According to sources, the BJP wanted to field its candidate, but party leaders, led by former DCM R Ashok, decided against the move as the party was not in a position to throw any surprises.
Later, speaking to the reporters, Bhadre Gowda informed that his priority will be to make Bengaluru ‘clean and green’. “I have my own ideas for the city. I will try to implement it in a short span of time,” he said.
