Bengaluru: In a decision, which is expected to destabilize the state coalition government further, the JDS appointed Hunasuru MLA and former minister Adagooru Huchegowda Vishwanath, popularly known as ‘Halli Hakki’ as the new president of party state unit. In the political circles, Vishwanath is known as the bête noire of former CM Siddaramaiah. Both belong to the same Kuruba community.
It can be recalled that Vishwanath quit the Congress following his grouse with Siddaramaiah and joined the Deve Gowda camp to teach him a lesson.
JDS national president HD Deve Gowda announced the appointment of the new president for the party state unit on Sunday evening. Speaking on the occasion, Gowda rubbished the allegations made by several Congress leaders that the present government is showing step-motherly treatment towards the North Karnataka region. “We will release a book comparing the budget of the Siddaramaiah and HD Kumaraswamy,” he said.
A H Vishwanath announced that his priority is taking the party forward and strengthening it across the state.
