Bengaluru: With the idea of bringing down the pressure on Bengaluru city, the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) has proposed developing four new townships near the city.
According to the sources, the proposal has been sent to the state government for final approval.
As per the plan, the BDA wants to develop four townships in Anekal, Dabaspet, Doddaballapur and Hosakote. “These townships will be developed in the form of satellite towns. All these four towns will be connected through peripheral ring road, which will connect them with the city,” said sources in the BDA.
“Rs. 17,000 crores are required for the proposed peripheral ring road. Once the BDA is able to adjust the funds for the project, the township projects will be taken up simultaneously in all the towns,” explained an officer privy to the development.
Meanwhile, the BDA authorities informed that the sites at the Shivarama Karantha layout will be distributed to all the beneficiaries in the next three months. “Around 5,000 sites are available. This layout is developed on 800 acres of land,” officers informed.
