Bengaluru: BBMP has decided to undertake fogging exercise in all wards of the city after complaints that dengue and other vector-borne disease are on the rise in the city following the recent deluge due to torrential rains.
As per the decision taken by the BBMP, 44 wards of the West zone will be covered in the first phase of the project. A sum of Rs.4.55 crores will be spent on the project.
Under the project, BBMP will conduct fogging exercise between 7 am and 11 am in these 44 wards which have reported highest numbers of vector-borne disease.
“These wards include Chamarajpet, KR Market, Majestic, Malleshwaram etc. Fogging team will be ready for 12 hours in a day to fog the areas from whereever it receives complaint,” informed an officer from the health department.”We are giving contract to third party to ensure that the project will be implemented without any complaint,” he explained.
