Bengaluru: In a move, which is aimed at creating a digital document of the BBMP employees and officers, the corporation has kickstarted the process of digital recording of service records of all the employees. Under the initiative service records of last 50 years will be digitalised.

Under the new initiative, all the employees are directed to produce their Aadhar documents and Aadhar data will be linked to employee service records.

The BBMP has appointed 30 computer operators exclusively for this initiative. Presently, the BBMP has around 8,000 regular employees. Details of all the employees will be updated under this drive.

According to the officials, this initiative has been launched following the complaints that service records of many employees were lost and they find it difficult to get pension at the time of retirement. Besides, there are also complaints that single employee is working under two different names. “Once Aadhar is connected to service records, all these problems can be solved,” explained a senior officer.

The BBMP officers are planning to complete this initiative in next 50 days.
